Boca – Cutter Failure

If you get an error message on your boca printer about a cutter failure, this will walk you through the few items needed to fix your printer.

With the printer powered off and unplugged from the AC source, please check the following.

  1. Remove the print head (see Boca Ticket Printer – Cleaning the Thermal Print Head) and check to see if there are any tickets possibly jammed in the entrance to the cutter. If so then remove said jam. Once done properly installed the print head back in place.
  2. Take a look up where the tickets exit the cutter. Sometime there may be a ticket jammed in this area too. If so then remove said jam.
  3. If the above steps didn’t resolve the issue then default the printer settings. With the printer powered off hold down the TEST button and then power up the printer. Keep the TEST button held down for 10 seconds and release (the printer will reset at this time). Please note that if a Static IP Address is being used it will need to be reprogrammed after this step as it will be reset back to the factory settings.
